Hurlingham

About the project
The works at Hurlingham comprise the alteration and extension of a Grade II listed building to provide a 32 bed care home. The completed building includes a 4-storey extension, together with a new basement to provide cinema, therapy suite, commercial kitchen and laundry, and other ‘back of house’ facilities.
The extension is constructed from a concrete frame with curtain walling and precast (brick slip) panels. The transition between the listed building and new extension is formed by a glazed link reception area, to ensure an appropriate relationship between the historic and new construction.
The completed scheme includes landscaped gardens and communal roof terraces with glazed balustrades to maximise the views over the local area.
