The Rotunda, Kingston

The Rotunda in Kingston upon Thames is a high quality purpose built leisure destination, including 14 screen cinema, health and fitness club, bowling alley and restaurants. The project was undertaken on behalf of LMS Leisure Investments (now part of Derwent London) with a construction cost of £20 Million and comprises approximately 170,000ft² of leisure space over a total of 5 floors.
Prior to development, the site was principally used as the main Bus Depot, and included the Grade II listed Bentalls Depository, which was retained as part of the scheme. The project required excavations to form a new basement floor, construction of 4 floors above, and a new contra-flow bus lane on to the Kingston one-way system.
The completed project sits on a prominent corner of Kingston opposite the Station, and has been fully let to a number of well-known high street companies, attracting circa 3 Million visitors per year.
